“We have successfully used Mu transposition products in our practical course for microbial genetics, to generate genomic insertion mutant library for E. coli strain DH1 (Lac+). At the course we have screened the library for Lac- phenotype and calculated the mutation frequency. Mutagenesis is an important technique in molecular biology, and we have found transposition products to be a great way to demonstrate how we can produce genetically modified organisms.”
